Question Should I buy this?

I have a highly realistic looking Jason Voorhees mask and costume and I am always looking to improve it and I was wondering if I should add the following to it:

My only concern is me having trouble seeing and it not looking very real.

I wouldn't.

If you've already got a really good Voorhees mask, that would be just an extra something that is going to bug you (lack of sight) all night and probably 99% of the people seeing you won't notice it anyway.

I actually did end up buying it last night. It wasn't THAT much. But I figure if it doesn't work out, I can sell it on ebay. I'll try it on first and see...if I can see, and if it looks good. I'll also get opinions from others. I kinda have a bad feeling now. lol. But no big deal. Like I said, I'll sell it on ebay if it doesn't look good and hopefully get my money back. I just had to see for myself.

Another option being consider is buying one of those black "faceless" hood masks and just leave it all intact so that way I do not have to paint my skin dark, and I can have no eyes which is another road I've consider walking down. I actually think that might be more scary and I've been told hoods are perfect to wear under an undermask. But I just fear getting really hot under all that.

It's hard being Jason.

I love my seethru black mesh mask. Of course I put it under another mask so they can't see my eyes or skin. Then I sit myself in the yard someplace like I'm another prop and scare the hell out of the adults after they walk by. I think I made one mother scream a good 3 blocks worth a few years ago. lol
My big prob is having to wear glasses. Now I tend not to wear masks at all. Can't really afford the contacts too. Takes some of the fun out of it for me now.

Don't feel bad about it - if you really wanted it, then good for you for getting it.

Oh, and my DH wears glasses and REFUSES to try contacts. He also has a full beard that he also refuses (see a pattern here) to shave, so he's pretty limited on costume choices.

I'll have to look into the black hoods that go under masks... I bet you wear that over a pair of glasses and it wouldn't hurt if the mask wasn't form fitting.

I just feel bad for getting it because when it arrives, I worry it won't work out. Either because I can't see very well or it looks fake/cheesy or both.....and/or I won't be able to sell it for a good price on ebay.

I'm even thinking about getting this faceless hood that looks great....

There's others like it online, but that is the best I've find. It's kinda long and I think it will be able to fit under my under-mask just fine. (A big pro to that is I won't have to wear any make-up if I end up getting that. A big con however is I might sweat my face off. lol.)

...Then when that gets here, I can compare the two, and whatever doesn't work out, I'll sell. Who knows what the better one will be...I might take pics and get some opinions from you folks if you guys don't mind....it'll be interesting to see which one is better.

Time will tell, and hey, life is risk...but when it concerns Halloween and looking the best, it's well worth it.

If you get it and it doesn't work for you, you can always use it in a prop. Maybe a painting on the wall, with one eye cut out and that eye behind in the eye hole. There's always a way to use things!
