i want to be a movie star from the 40's...however i want to appear to be black and white. paint my face, clothing; how would i go about doing this. any ideas?
Get a white wig, where a black and white outfit. Paint your face white and wear black lipstick. Black or white shoes. Black nailpolish if female. Throw some gray in there somewhere, maybe gray clothes.
Ever see the movie Pleasentville? Use that for inspiration. There are a couple scenes where they're trying to do makeup to make someone look B&W when they're really color.
Grey makeup probably isn't that easy to find, so you'll probably have to get a LOT of what you can find and mix your own colors. Also check out greasepaint, there are probably some greys you can get for clowns.
If woman: dress and blouse, go long dress so you don't have to paint legs too, hair in 1920's-50's styles mostly up and curly, and you'll have to figure out how to do makeup in greyscale...
If man: grey or black business suit, white shirt, black or grey tie, black or white socks, if you're gonna do cufflinks or a watch black or silver, hair short and maybe slicked back...

Let's see some pics of the finished product
Very cool idea![8D] Yes Pleasentville should inspire you!....I like when they are starting to turn a little color...it looks cool. Wear all the black and whites and greys. Make face greyish white, more grey than white. You could paint your lips black if you are a lady...however I think red lipstick would look awsome....it would be a cool effect.
Have fun and yes post pics. I would like to know how to post pics.
