Default large size costume bluez

i just wanted to say something about how frustrating it is that cool womens costumes dont come larger. i make my own so its not a huge thing but very few store bought costumes fit a size 16-18. the plus sized selection just stinks. have any other women noticed this?

all things considerd, i'll take the zero.

To be honest,it ain't only the ladies that have that problem. My wife is a plus size and she got so frustrated that she flat out gave up on the costumes.I keep on trying to talk her into working my home haunt and let me make her into a corpse but she doesn't go for it usually.

We have a Gothic clothing store in Austin called Forever Halloween. I know that they carry really cool gothic dresses and clothing up to a 3X I believe. You may want to try something similar in your area.

Ladys plus size costumes are hard to find.. if you ever need one. I sew and have making costumes for years. Just finished a 21st Century Cobra outfit for a friend who went to the GI JOE convention in Orlando.http://groups.msn.com/FLJoes/joecon2004.msnw He is the guy in the box with the face mask lol

I am one of those sumptuously sized BBWs and I have no luck finding costumes to work with my body. I bought a sewing machine this year and plan on sewing my own. My DH (dear hubby) is also a BHM, so I am sewing him a cape, tailored for him, as well.

FYI, I am going as Medusa this year. Figure that would be relatively easy for me to sew first time.

I've actually had fairly decent luck the last few years (I'm an 18-20, usually). I do Renaissance faires and the stuff I wear to faire is pretty adaptable for Halloween. Many vendors sell plus sizes and the clothing isn't always obviously "rennie". One year, I went with friends as the Sanderson sisters (Hocus Pocus - I was Mary); another year, with a corset, ball gown skirt and jacket, I went as a "dominatrix" vampire; last year, pretty simple as a sexy witch in my black velvet dress from Faire Pair tights & a hat from Target - I love this dress - it's very versatile! I can add lots of accessories to it for a costume or wear it plain to a party. I'll absolutely agree that buying a ready-made costume at a shop hasn't been easy, but I've been able to find some good ideas.
