It's a week before our Spookfest party, and I'm at a crossroads with my costume. I have been planning to be a sorcerous, but I've searched & searched for a headress or something to do/make with my hair, and nothing looks right. Teased up is witchy, but really more like my hairstyle in the 80s than anything else. I'm at a loss for shoes, & the thrill is gone.
In my search, tho, I found an adorable little black dress & awesome platform heels & I'm very tempted to wear them as a witch costume. But I don't want to just be tarted-up. I'm thinking I could make my face hideous with latex prothetics from the Halloween Store, to kinda offset the effect.
Has anyone used latex noses, warts, etc., rather than a mask? I'm wondering if they'll last through a 6-hour plus party, eating, & drinking. How should I prepare my skin before putting it on? Are there any crucial mistakes that I could make?
Also, has anyone used double-sided tape to make sure their...uh...bodice stays put?

Hey! I've used some latex stuff before, but usually it covers my whole face. I used Spirit Gum to hold it on and had it last all night at a party (from about 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.), so I found that it stayed on pretty well.
As for the two-sided tape...lol! I used to be in Rocky Horror and for the floor show I used two-sided tape to keep my corset up. I'm a 44DD and it worked for me. And that's with some pretty energetic dancing and falling down while sweating under hot stage lights.

Thanks, Sheepie! LOL the floor show - which character were you?
Did you use doublesided tape like what you find at home supply or dept. stores, or did you get it somewhere else?
Did you do anything special to prepare you face for the spirit gum, to encourage it to stick?
