I am attempting to make this banana split costume for myself (adult).

I probably could have found yellow pants in the summer but have called many scrubs/uniform stores & tried Goodwills with no luck.

I think I may have to dye a white pair. Anyone have tips on what kind of dye to use for yellow? I have heard of Rit dye. Any tips on how to dye fabric?

    Much thanks.

Rit is probably the one that everyone knows, and it's pretty easy. Super duper hot water (and if you're dying cotton, check that it is pre-shrunk, or is a bit baggy to start with, as cotton might shrink up in super hot...)

I've dyed in the washer and in the sink for small stuff, and if you follow their directions, you should be fine.

Great tips. I stopped at another Goodwill to get white scrubs to dye & they had yellow corduroys. So I don't need to learn to use dye afterall.
