Yo. I'm a hugeee Neil Gaiman fan, and for this Hallowe'en I wanted a costume that could work for two parties - my Hallowe'en Party and my friend's birthday party a couple of days afterwards which has a "Myths & Legends" theme. I'm re-reading Neil Gaiman's Anansi Boys at the moment and there's a character in it based on a Carribbean legend, she's the Bird Woman and she's pretty scary, so I've decided to be the Bird Woman for Hallowe'en.

...I don't really have much idea how I'm going to do it to be honest. LOL.

I've bought black feather earrings, black feather hairclips and two black feather boas. I'm hoping to find a cheap dress that I can modify. I really need to buy some feather trim to sew onto it...anyway I'll keep you guys posted about how it goes.

I'm not really sure how to do the face. I'm wavering between a feathered carnival mask and some type of face paint. But I've got no idea how to make my face look "bird-like"? LOL

Here's the beginnings of the costume. Haven't found a dress yet.

I lack one essential characteristic of the Bird Woman; she's black, and I am not.

So I thought what would make it creepier would be white make-up. Otherwise it's just me in a wig which isn't all that scary LOL
