Thread: Need costume ideas for charity event

I am volunteering at a charity event for a cat shelter I volunteer with called the Black Cat Ball October 22nd. We can wear costume or evening ware. I have never been but sounds like a fancy event with live & silent auction, 3 course dinner & wine.

Volunteers can be in the costume contest & I'd love to win. My costume for this year is not appropriate for this event. I am looking for ideas that are creative or I could piece together with purchased items. Not gorey & something easy to move around in as I am an auction runner.

I have basic craft skills but can not sew. Ideas?? I am thinking maybe a pinata, gypsy...

Quickly put out a Facebook status asking for a borrowed costume...don't try to put something together in an hour or you'll fall apart or just plain suck (no offense)
You can do a very quick Twister costume (the game) from the real game. Easy to move in and colorful.

Unfortunately most my friends are not my size. But they may have some accessories I can borrow. I have a month to put the costume together though. Event is not til Oct 22nd.

Sorry, stupid me. I saw the line right above your post "Need costume ideas for charity event – Today," and my brain skipped over the actual date.
Accesories make the costume . Most people have a basement box full of stuff that can be combined into something.....

Would it be too ironic/borderline insulting to be the crazy cat lady? Goodwill has huge boxes of stuffed animals (5 for $1) that you could sew all over an old housecoat & coming out of all the pockets.
