Whats the most important thing for you on Samhain? Something you never miss?

For me it is a lone walk in the night on the third day (nov. 1) barefoot and aimless to speak with those the veil has hidden in order to recieve guidance for the coming year...

I haven't celebrated Samhain for about two years (last year I just didn't have a chance to). Generally though, I like to light a candle and ask for friends and relatives who've gone on, to come sit with me for awhile. One year that I did this, I had just lost a friend who was an Inuit Alaskan. After I closed the ceremony, I did a few things around the house, and decided to go to bed. I turned on the baby monitor in my bedroom, and the eeriest Native American music was blaring from it. I ran down to my son's room to turn off the radio (thinking somehow he'd gotten out of his crib and turned it on, or my older son had snuck into his room and turned it on)...there he lay, sleeping peacefully...in silence. From his room, I could still hear the music coming from the speaker in our room. It really freaked my husband out, he didn't want me to continue practicing after that. The music went on for quite awhile, and then it just faded out, never happened again.

Thats nice. The veil truly is lifted those days. Its always a humble reminder of the preciousness of things when we peer through it.
