Thread: what to do until august

I wont be doing any prop BUYING until late august so i would like to know what you guys do to keep you in the spirit until next halloween? I can only think of prop building.

Well we have a prop building group that meets every other month but last yr. it kind of fell apart cause I was sick (the whole yr.). Gonna start that going again. We meet right after News Yrs. for a Xmas party with the members families & then we plan what dates we are getting together.

Last yr. I bought tons of materials for several projects but nothing got done so I need some help.....so I put up a sign outside my door last night that they read before they came into the house. I asked for volunteers who wanted to learn prop building...jeez I was so excited>>>I got 7. So we will get together after Xmas and see who has talents in what they can make & hopefully I'll get some of this stuff built!! Wish me luck fellow Haunters!!

We try to work on props but we get too busy

We clebrate all the major holidays and have several themed parties throughout the year

Plus we go boating and rving throughout the summer

And we have the project house and the project car

Well, we have a Halloween themed Christmas as well, so we keep the spirit alive that way. We use a regular type artificial tree,but decorate with orange and purple lights, little Halloween ornaments, a garland wrapped string of skulls that plays the Halloween theme song and such.

Soon as Christmas is over, we start planning for Kreepfest. From Feb. to July every month there's at least one order coming in. Hubby builds things like coffin bookshelves or lamps to raffle off as prizes.

We work on the design of our haunt in about May, so we know what we need to build so we can start buying up supplies like wood, screws, paint, etc.

Then after Kreepfest, we start the Haunt building in earnest.

That's just us though.

I spend alot of time on here! Too much according to the wife...

I'll be getting some rest and actually be able to watch some tv. I have not done that in about 1 1/2 months.

I will build this year....I always say that, and don't get crap done.. but I'm so disappointed that I didn't get everything up this year, so I will press hard to get some stuff done...foremost is getting my lightorama up and running.

I also plan on finishing any props I start at the haunt group meetings this year the following week instead of putting them away thinking I'll get to them later.
