halloween was a bit of a disaster for us
spent most of the afternoon setting up and by 5pm its started to rain, and it rained and rained and rained,im gutted, most of my decorations are ruined and will probably have to be thrown away.
all the years iv been decorating its never rained . been very windy but not rain.
my decorations are no where near to the standard of you guys, but mine are aimed at little 1s because its to scary for them they wont come in the yard to trick or treat.
i think im gonna have to try and aim at doing decs and props that can withstand the rainy weather for next year.
really really gutted.
BUT on the plus side i had 150 kids, less than last year but i think the rain kept alot away. they still loved it even if they were soaked bless them.
i hope you all have had an amazing halloween. ill be loggin on in the morning to check everyones progress out
HAPPY HALLOWEEN GUYS XXXXXXX

Weather is the bane of all decorations
I've lost several major displays due to weather

That really sucks! But I am happy that despite the disappointment you were capable of looking on the brighter side of things. I wish you the best of luck next year.
The only downfall of Halloween is it only happens once a year.

Sorry to hear.

Think on hitting your soft porouse materials with Camp Dry. It's a silicon spray made for further water resisting nylon and canvas tents.
Couldn't hurt. What doesn't kill you can still make you walk funny.

This year I didn't set up anything in the yard, I created alcoves in my garage doors for my stuff, and put the 'garbage' by the road with my trashcan trauma.
8:30pm and the jerk teens started showing up, so I closed the garage doors and turned out the lights. So easy, and wind or rain really wouldn't have affected me too much.

So sorry about your ruined decorations. It's hard to put so much time and money into it and have to start over.

Englishlady- sorry to hear about the weather; I've had issues with windstorms this week blowing away my tombstones. That's the one thing you can never predict, and it stopped me from putting out a lot of stuff until yesterday, but I think I learned a few tricks for next year.

Sorry to hear about the rain! Rain is my WORST nightmare for my props. Most of them are ok in it, but a fair number of them wouldn't be either, and NONE of my lighting is ok in the rain.
I can only imagine how you feel.
At least you had TOTs. We only had 40 this year.

Oh, I am so, so, so sorry!
But you did get your 150 TOTers. That is awesome.
So very sorry about the loss of your props.

Sorry to hear about your props too.

It is great to hear that you still had such a good number of tot in spite of the weather though.
As I was going up the stair, I saw a man that wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today...Oh how I wish he'd go away.
