Where I live the city decided that saturday night was to be trick or treat night. I took Saturday off from work to set up all my goodies.
First off.......I am SICK of the cheap electronics in the Chinese imported animatronics. Last year I couldn't get my Frankenstein (at the bottom of the picture) working.
After playing with it I found that one of the wires to the sensor was broke so I repaired it and got it working again. I found that it worked off of light changes so I had it rigged to a strobe to trigger it. Seemed to be working ok. Then, towards the end of the night, I went to see why it wasnt working and there was smoke rolling out of the box. Had to unplug that one for the night.
Try as I might, I couldn't get my "Goodnight Kiss" prop to work more than about 15 % of the time.
Other than that, I had a good night and really got some people to jump with my home made crawler. I probably had a little over 200 trick or treaters. Once they were done I tore it all down again. Really stinks to have to do it that way but if I dont, my stuff WILL get stolen.
Time to start building my own props instead of sinking money into the overpriced crap being sold by the Halloween shops.
Hope y'all have a good Halloween.

I found the design for it on another site about 2 or 3 years ago. I set my lighting up so that by flicking 1 switch most of my lights go out and the crawler goes into action. I have it lit with two strobes and it is creepy as heck at night. Heres a link to a short video made while in the construction test phase......
