Well we’ve just concluded our Halloween here in Australia and it was a huge success. 250+ children! A couple of our local newspapers were spotted in the area taking photos and we got lots of comments on our homemade props. A big thanks to all on here who have inspired me to make props this year – just love this place to bits!

    I’m in Altona, and you?

I letterbox about 1000 homes in my area, preparing them for the evening and I decorate my home for 2 weeks leading up to the big night (I’m on a main road). Still, there’s certainly more ‘trick or treaters’ than there are treat givers. Some come from far and wide. Let me know if you’d like a copy of the type of letter I send out. The homes also attach a balloon to their letterbox or similar to let the children know they’re taking part. Just love this time of year and each year I manage to convert a few more.

Yep, Knox is a bit of a hike from here. I think the letter really helps because people are very hesitant to embrace Halloween in Australia. The streets are buzzing with children on the night and each year it grows by about 30%.

If it should make the papers I'll be sure to let you know.

And let me also say that DIY Halloween props are addictive and so is this forum and if you're anything like me, it will be a 12 month a year obsession.

Just starting to get dark here. No TOT's yet.

Started playing spooky music outside and turned all the Halloween lights on.
