ok, so those of you who have read my posts know that my neighbors and I are doing a yard haunt together. I am super upset with my neighbors right now. I don't even know how to say this without getting more upset. I have spent SOOOO much money on supplies and decorations, from a 16$ gallon of paint, to skulls, and spiderweb, skeleton blucky, creepy cloth, strobe lights and a fog machine plus a LOT more. I'm loaning out some of my dresses for there costumes. It just feels like IM doing everything and they are doing nothing. For the tombstones granted they cut them out, but they used over HALF of MY acrylic paints, ruined half of my paint brushes from not rinsing them out. One of the neighbors has done nothing but take FULL credit for everything to one of her friends, and she did the LEAST of everything, she painted a sign. that's it. I've been busting my a$$ getting this done, and this woman wants to take credit for everything. OMG. I'm so upset. the other neighbor did help a little more, and I'm not really upset with her. But she seems to be ignoring me, and I have no idea why. I thought I was finally making friends and now two of them want to ignore me. The other lady I haven't seen at all the past two weeks, and she did help, but she's the one who used most of my paint and I'm still missing some brushes and paint that she borrowed. AND I'M THE ONLY ONE FIXING STUFF FROM THE WIND DAMAGE!!! I don't want to make a big deal out of it with them, but I just feel like I've been used and taken advantage of. UGHH! K. Rant over. I hope.

Come Halloween night think of the enjoyment everyones gonna get from your hard graft at your own house and the neighbours and regardless of her/them taking credit your still gonna go to bed that night knowing it was you that made all those ToT's happy
My own neighbours are pretty petty and competitive and after a couple of years helping and loaning things to them on Halloween they now do their own thing and we get along alot better for it
Keep your chin up and keep smiling...once the big nights over you can get back to just making friends without the complications of working together/loaning materials to get in the way.
By the pricking of my thumbs...

I would make a sign giving all credit to yourself.

I don't want to sound harsh, but that's what I would do.

Or if someone makes a comment on how amazing it looks, just take all the credit yourself.

that's the thing Ickyvicki, I haven't been bossy at all. They've been coming to me for all the supplies and running idea's by me, but I never once took charge of it. I am now doing most of the stuff myself, but I haven't ever been bossy. I hate confrontation, and I'm definitely not a leader. lol. I'm just to the point were I understand now that what I envisioned and what they were willing to do is two COMPLETELY different things. I'm going to head up to the halloween city tomorrow and pick a couple bag of bones, and toss them around, maybe get a few extension cords and possibly a few more bags of candy as I don't know if they are getting any and I'm fairly certain we're going to get a lot of TOT's and don't want to run out, but as for anything else, I'm done. I've already gone WAY over my budget set by my husband, and he's happy with everything, but considering my daughters birthday is in two weeks, I maybe shouldn't have spent so much. She's still going to have a fantastic birthday, just a few less gifts.

Jsut to be on the safe side I hope you've been keeping receipts. Wouldn't want to have to unevenly divvy things up after Halloween.

That's a real shame. Unfortunately, not at all unusual whenever a group tries to do things like this together. I hope you still are able to enjoy the holiday - and I imagine next year you will do things differently!

Ouch. Sounds like one of those horrible high school group projects where 1 person does all the work and all the slackers benefits. I hated those.

    On the plus side...

    1. You've got a supportive husband
    2. Your haunt is gonna rock
    3. You made a serious effort to build some bridges and make things happen. Good on ya!
