Hey, I was wondering... how do you all post halloween(or any type for that matter) video's with the music from bands and artists... I have downloaded video before and it never lets me keep the songs I choose... they say I am at risk of copyright infringement and they completely remove all sound from my videos? How can I get around this and make my videos stick they way I want them? Any help would be appreciated

Run a virtual machine with windows 2000 and a really old copy of Media Player back before they screwed it all up with DRM.

An easier way is to look at the music file properties. If the music file is on the desktop, right click on it and select "properties" at the top you will see 3 tabs the last one being summary.

Much of the information is there that you need to "delete" as that info is incorporated into the video file. This is what the Youtube bots look for. There is more in the "advanced" portion too. Just rename things but remember that it is a violation if this is a commercial video and you are making money from it. Some also dont allow their videos even in youtube movies so be aware of that. You certainly do not want any copyright trouble but if its a problem, youtube will delete it anyway.

Actually I believe YouTube now uses voice/rhythm recognition software in addition to checking the DRM tags on the files.

Youtube doesn't use those tags to determine if the song belongs to one of the companies that demand they prevent their artists songs from being posted. They somehow look at the song track and figure it out.
