Bad News. No matter where you live, no matter what the weather, no visible moon for TOT this year. Sorry, Folks, She doesn't rise until after midnight.

    OMG who stole the moon?

    Yeah, that is too bad.

It was nice to see it full last night though.

Although a great moon is a staple of halloween, it does make it darker overall. That could be of benefit to some. No moon in the sky really makes it quite dark.

That site confused me. Isn't the new moon not until the 6th?

I'm actually glad. This is just one less source of light for me to deal with. For me, the darker, the better!

You are correct, 10/31 will be a waning crescent but, it will not rise until late so at the time of ToT, no moon.

Bummer I wanted a good image or two with the moon in the background.

Last Friday as I put up my grave stones the moon was just a little past full. I started at dusk and the sky was purple with the moon hanging right at the tree line. An hour latter it was pitch black and moon was still there just a little higher and I could hear an owl hooting in the trees; it really set the tone

There are some upsides to not having moonlight. as everyone already said it'll be darker and make subtle lights like candles (my fave kind) stand out more.
