I was out front trying out some lighting ideas & the local PD pulls up. I'm thinking oh crap someone complained about the decorations.

Nope he stopped to say he & all the city bigwigs love the display. how cool is that!

we start chatting & I say something about the streetlight out front of my house & how I wish I could shut it off for halloween night. Next thing I know he calls up the city power commishiner & asks him to come over to my house that I have a complaint. 5 minutes later he shows up. The officer tells him about the streetlight. Now at 5 PM on halloween night they are going to come disable the light & at 9 PM they are going to comeback & turn it on. He said since i'm not on a corner but the middle of the block he write it up as routine maintenence downtime.

I'm super happy about that no more white light ruining everything I'm stoked!

That was nice of the police most of them wont even do that! Got any pics of your decorated house?

What a cool story about the cops, and your yard is looking great! Maybe invest in a tripod to steady that aim.

I had something very similar happen. I had a patrol car roll up while I was setting up and the officer said everything looked great and that it was his daughters favorite house to trick or treat at each year.
