    Hi everyone,

Haven't been able to successfully find any suitable coloured light bulbs for my halloween party on Friday.

Im wondering if anyone has any good/inexpensive ideas of making standard house light bulbs coloured ha ha.

Just want the kitchen and the hallway to have a different feel.

    thanks!

I remember doing that as a kid. Spray paint on a conventional bulb. Very effective. In fact, red is incredibly hard on the eyes! Give that a shot.

I just picked up a blacklight CFL from Home Depot... they had a bunch of other different colors there as well. Some were in the Christmas display but they do carry them year round. Our Super Walmart also carries color CFLs.

I am also shocked you cant find any good ones. Are you looking for hard to find colors? I found everything from black lights to yellow/green/purple at Home Depot for about $4 i think ??

I've never tried spray painting a bulb. Is that safe? I'm sure someone can answer this. I dont know if it is or not

Colored syran (plastc) wrap works well. Just don't put it directly on the bulb.

You can get glass paint at craft stores. I made a nice orange flood bulb last year and am doing it again for another scene in my haunt.
