There is a small town near me that decorates the whole place in toilet paper. I have no idea how the tradition got started but the police stand by and make sure it's all safe for the throwers to do their job...lol!

I remember running around with my older brothers (in the 70's) and egging mailboxes or putting shaving cream on the mailbox handle, setting off firecrackers.. that sort of thing.. But, thankfully, that does not happen anymore. Unfortunatly, I also remember watching halloween specials like The Ghost and Mr. Chicken and It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, etc. I remember trick or treating in several neighborhoods.. for hours.. but those things seem to be dwindling away too.

Nothing here. We had some random eggs in the summer, but that was it. No silly string or shaving cream on Halloween night even.

Mischief Night happens in England too. I'm originally from the North West, but moved to the North East (York) 7 years ago. I never remember Mischief Night from being a kid on Merseyside, but when I came to York I discovered that Mischief Night is a big deal in the NE. In fact, the first year I was here for Hallowe'en, my Uni Dorms all got egged!
It's usually the night before Hallowe'en, I think, which is called Mischief Night. It's mostly pretty harmless I think - but annoying if you've got to clean off the egg yolk the next day (it sticks like nobody's business)

around my hometown , the town squares ( traffic circles actually) tend to get loaded up with junk, things 'borrowed' from yards etc. Yrs and yrs ago they would take everyone's outhouse and put them there. Occasionally someone will do a prank like putting a car on someone's roof :-) But no not as prevelant as in years past. Much more traffic on Rt 30 24/7 than when I was a kid, hard to unload stuff on the traffic circle

I saw that show too! I kind of hope they let mischief night go as a thing of the past... they were showing kids burning down buildings and breaking windows and other bigger destructive stuff. tp is pretty harmless though and i dont think anyone would really mind mischief in that form
I never got into any mischief on halloween or the night before, mum and pop would have beat my ass if i had lol.Hello, I want my book. Bonjour, je veux mon livre.

We had Mischief! Lucky it was one egg on a window and few poor attempts at TPing. Props and JOL were unharmed. I secretly would love a good TPed tree or two

I haven't had any issues with Michief Night for some time, so I'm not sure anyone really does it anymore.....
While harmless fun (like TPing) probably would still be OK, the whole thing is probably a bad idea these days. Some kids in Philly one summer were playing with water balloons or water pistols & some guy got hit and he shot & killed one of the kids. Another guy a few years back shot & killed a guy for parking in his newly shoveled out spot during a snow storm. I really hate to see what someone would do during Michief Night - I just can't see it being safe or wise.
