In their infinite wisdom, the local Powers That Be have moved TOT to this Thursday.
The reasoning:
Friday is for High School Football... PERIOD! Halloween cannot be held on a Sunday. And Saturday might encourage too much late-night merry-making.
So Thursday is now Halloween. TOT is from 6-8PM, after which the local constabulary will cruise the streets reminding stragglers that Halloween is OVER.
On Thursday, I will be working.
And steaming.![]()

My non-spirited neighbors will be THRILLED. For years, my display has drawn over 200 TOTers on a street that usually only gets 30-40 at most.

My commute to work is like 45 minutes, I have seen many churches, one in particular that has a big sign out in front of it saying the church is taking back Halloween!! Like it's the devil's holiday..in stead of Toting you go to church..A holiday is a holiday, if u don't like it turn ur lights off.. Let the kids TOT and get their candy!

That is disgusting. It pisses me off so bad that people feel like they have the right to determine when others celebrate holidays. Not everyone cares about football, and not everyone is a Christian.
Ugh, that just makes me so mad.
I've yet to hear if my community has changed the date. But every single church I've driven by has either Trunk-or-Treat or a "Fall Festival" on Oct. 30 or 31. Jerks.Visit my blog, Very Vegan Holdiay. Fun holidays recipes and ideas, including Halloween!
