Sure enough, the most crucial time of the year and my compressor
ate it's self. Luckily I only have one prop left to paint and can do it by
hand. Although I had a lot of finishing touches I would have preferred to use
    the airbrush on.

I had an oil free bostich 2.5 gal compressor. It made it just over
2 years and I didn't do much with it. A few framing nails here and there, and airbrush mostly. I didn't even run any pneumatics off it.

So here I am looking for suggestions for a replacement.
It should be beefy enough to use for framing, and pneumatics (Which
I hope to get into next year)

    What do you folks suggest?

    I have this one:

I run air nailers, an impact wrench, and an air chisel with it. Not the greatest but I have owned it for almost 3 years and have used it quite a bit.

I have the same one as Terror Tom. I've abused it now for probably five or six years, including... knocking it over and breaking off the intake filter, letting it slide around the back of my truck and other adventures. Still works like a beast, though!

I have a Campbell Hausfield 3 gal. oilless and, just recently, bought a 2hp 30gal Ingersoll Rand at a garage sale that was in really crappy condition ($40) I threw a few more dollars into it to get it up to snuff (pressure switch, fittings and a regulator) and we're back in business. This thing runs like a tank and gives me up to 140psi for just about anything. I plan to use this to power my new prop for this year! I suppose my point is, have a look around first at garage sales, EbaY and craig's list, you may find a great deal like i did!
