Hello I think I read somewhere that you can make tonic water glow in test tubs for a frankenstein labs? Does anyone know how to do it...what else do I need besides water and black light?? TIA

Are you just using the tonic water for decoration or can you use another glowing liquid? Tonic water glows on its own, but if you are just looking for a liquid to glow for decoration purposes, I usually just take out the inside of a highlighter - there are different colors - yellow is best. and soak it in water. After awhile, the water will absorb the glow dye and the liquid will glow under blacklight. Funny you ask this question now as I am working on my lab at this very moment. = )

BTW, the highlighter fluid really, really glows well. Tonic water doesn't glow as well, but it glows somewhat.

ah we must be working on the same thing!! So, if I just want to use tonic water...not sure if I have any highligters..i just pour it in my tubes and turn on the black lights? No need for any food colorings or anything?

Is it even better when you soak highlighter wicks in tonic water?

This is exactly what I do or use cheap non-strong hold type hair gel. It makes it a nice slime/gooish & glow effect.
