I was at the shops, I’d been waiting days to go and get my Halloween supplies because I planned on getting most of the stuff done this weekend since nearly nothing is done. I was going to the last shop and it had been raining, they didn’t have their mat at the top of the escalator (a flat one that goes down similar to moving stairs).

I walked down ever so slowly since I’d fallen once before. Then it happened. I felt myself falling forward. I don’t remember if I fell back now. But I was wearing my rag skirt so I landed on my bare knee and proceeded to slide down the metal a few feet. I had to grab the plastic side near the railings to stop myself. I stood up kind of shocked and I got down the bottom and the pain hit me. I lifted my skirt and I had blood all over my leg, it was dripping down. They sent the security around and they were like :/ They treated it with a medical kit and I rang the health line at home who insisted I go to the hospital emergency room and I did. Luckily, it wasn’t a huge wait. They’ve dressed it for now, gave me medication, gave me an injection, a letter for my GP, some other supplies and suggested pain killers. There’s a lot of pain and there was so much blood. I'm feeling very exhausted right now and light headed but I can't sleep because of the pain *sigh* So much for my prop making and decorating weekend

Ahh crap. I'm sorry to hear!

WEll did you get cut or what? If you fell, what was the cause for all of the blood?

Did you fall on their property? If there was suppose to be a mat or something for safety and it wasn't there... I'd be checking on that! (I'm not one to be like "Ahh hell sue sue sue", I hate that, but if you're hurt because of their negligence, I'd get hitting up a lawyer)

Well, maybe it'll come out ok.

If it helps, lots of other folk are feeling it too! This week, my maze fell! O.o
I have to repair that now, which is going to put us behind at least 3 hours of work this sat. If it falls again, I KNOW we won't have time next weekend to finish everything. See, my big party, is almost an hour away!!! Yeah, sux.

Good luck! Hopefully things will turn out for ya.

Yes, I have a heap of long cuts from the metal indents on the escalator hence all the blood. Yup, I fell in the mall. They started putting the mat out after I slipped last time there but I didn't actually fall down that time. Yeah, sueing seems everyone's immediate response but I just need to get through the tests and medications and appointments for now...I don't take the elevator often because one time I was in there it stopped and there were alarms and the people next to me were freaking out, still no idea why that happened. I think I'll park on ground level next time :|

I hope your maze stays up next time

I don't think sueing is the answer but if it was their negligence you should at least get your medical bills paid. If I were you I'd stay away from that mall. Sounds pretty rickety.

Hope you feel better, but it doesn't sound like a lawsuit is in order.

    Why not sue?

I guess the way I look at it is if their negligence caused you an injury, pain. Making you unable to do the things you were intending on doing/mean't to be doing and its happened TWICE at the same place etc then why wouldn't you?

Either way, I hope you feel better. Sounds pretty rough
