I don't like the looks of this any more than anybody. But the closer we get, the worse things are shaping up to be. I just can't see any good news in this and I'm really bummed about it. So much planning will probably be scaled down to nothing. Such a shame, but the only thing we have to go on now is pure luck. This isn't exactly long range anymore. Nasty, rainy, cold, and windy conditions will most likely be many of our realities next week and into the weekend- sorry to say. I suppose the only thing I can do is setup as best I can and hope for the best- just march on as if it will be ok. But many props may have to be held back. And that is one big BOOOOOOOOOO![]()

Looks like we will get drenched starting Sunday and then continue on into Thursday at the least.

I looks like it's going to rain here the rest of the month, what to do? Most of my haunt is under cover, but I wonder if there will be many TOT. If not I have a lot of candy to eat

20 MPH winds predicted Sat and Sunday (which really worry me with my new setup) complete with driving rain. SNOW on Monday and Teusday.
I survive all that, it's looking fairly decent. Hoping I have time in between all the storms to finish up.

Fortunately, ours still shows sunny with highs in the 70's and lows in the upper 40's. Odd thing is, we haven't had a drop of rain all month. Very unusual for this area. I kept thinking it would be dry all month and then come a monsoon on Halloween. Maybe it'll wait till November after all.

I've been watching the long range forecast for the past several days and it has changed several times. I'm sure it will change again, so until about a week from tonight, I'm not putting too much stock in it. Worst case scenario is heavy rain in which case the animation stuff doesn't go out. Anything else will dry out. and the two main scenes are under cover. Bad weather means lower numbers but you can still have fun. I've seen years where it has rained up until an hour before TOT time then it stops or just drizzles a little and the kids still come out. If the weather is truly horrendous, you chalk it up to bad luck and plan ahead for next year. Sad to see all of our hard work/planning/anticipation be for nothing but it's a gamble we all take every year, especially in certain parts of the country where the weather is starting to change dramatically. Let's hope for a decent night. Everyone develop a back-up plan and don'
t get discouraged.

Had a look at accuweather for here just outside london...
On 30th it looks like it'll be ok, 13 deg C (55.4 deg F) minimum night-time temp with cloudy skies and dry
Fairly happy with that, the doors will be open in the house, so won't be too cold.

my experience with those long range forecasts is they almost always predict rain at the very end of the forecast 7 or 10 days out. Don't sweat it too much. I'm not saying i haven't had snow on halloween that severely disappointed me, but don't get upset until its a couple days before and they're still calling for rain. forecasting far in advance is still a fairly inexact science.
