I know, I know....it's the tradition. Hear me out. I bought the following items to hand out:
Glow bracelets (60)
Oreo cookie pouches (18)
Teddy bear cookie pouches (18)
Gummy fruit snacks (46)
Stickers (20)
They are all Halloween-themed (like the wrapping). I feel like the kids get SO much candy that they appreciate getting that little something different in their bags.
I will say, however, I was planning on buying a case of full-size candy bars for the teenagers in the neighborhood - which aren't that many.

As much as I personally love chocolate, I feel like my profession dictates I don't give out candy.
It's my first year living in a neighborhood so I am not sure what to expect. I got mini playing cards that have different Disney characters on the boxes. Came in a pack of 60. As far as I know there is only one kid older than 12 in the neighborhood so I hope they like them.

As long as you have something that isn't lame (i.e. toothbrushes, raisins, religious tracts, etc..) it wouldn't be a big deal. The cool little Halloween toys and stuff like glow bracelets are still "treats" in my book.

I agree .. as long as you dont have something like toothbrushes or trailmix you'll be fine. My grandmother thought she was the hit of the town by handing out nickels one year. Bless her heart .. she got TP'd.
I was like 9 and schooled her on the art of handing out candy and what was cool and what wasnt. She thought she was giving them something awesome
I think they will go ga-ga for the glow bracelets![B]~Zombie Hospital .. Paging Nurse Krissi B]

I always hand out candy but I also throw in some small halloween toys, collectibles & cash for the kiddies! All my TOTs get a prepackaged halloween bag which they know is a score when coming from my house.
A Halloween prop is a terrible thing to waste..

Those sound awesome! It's not like you're giving out apples or celery sticks. Or like someone else said, raisins, lol!!!!

This reminds me of one year I was out TOT'ing and I heard someone was giving out TY beanie babies. I was really mad I didn't hear about it before Halloween was over. I went up and down that street and got nothing special.. jeez I was red about that.

We went to one house on the outskirts of our old neighborhood three years ago, and my then three-year-old ended up with a really cute teddy bear from one house. She also loves getting Halloween-themed pencils and erasers. She sees them in her bag and thinks she scored big time, lol. Your stuff sounds right up our alley.
