The other day I was watching TV and saw this haunted house convention in St.Louis. They had tons and tons of detailed props and animatronics like you would find in a haunted house. I was wondering, are these open to the public or are they only for professional haunt owners. I'd love to go the one in March this year if other people are allowed in. But that stuff must cost a lot of money.
Here is a video of the convention from a few years ago

I do know that in general to register for industry trade shows you have to prove a proffessional affiliation. ie, list your company name on the application and what your job is

I know that a member here, Terra, went to Transworld this year. I think they are open to the public.

Transworld is not open to the public. To register, you have to send them copies of your business license, receipts for your business, or paystubs showing you work for a haunted attraction/vendor and so on. The one way around that is to get a personal written invitation from a vendor already registered at the event.
Also, most of the stuff you see at Transworld isn't for sale on the floor -- you can place orders, but not a lot of cash-and-carry. And yeah, some of it is super expensive, but it's also cool to see in person.

There is a convention I know of in Pennsylvania. Does anyone know if that is open to the public?
