Ok so something happened to me this weekend and it got me to thinking. So Friday night I came home very late from work exhausted! I was working a school dance and spent the entire night trying to keep the middle schoolers from grinding on anything that didnt move so anyhoo I get home tired and starving and there is a package waiting for me. Now I havent ordered anything and I already received my S.R. gift so I had no idea what it was. Then I see the name on the return address...NOWHINING!!!

Well I open it and it is the book and candle prop that we all commented on and loved that she sent her secret reaper. I can not tell you how surprised i was and how great it made me feel that she took the time to send that to me knowing how much I would love it! So it got me to thinking..... What if we started a Pay it Foward here at the forum??

Here is my plan. Since I was so moved by what Nowhining did for me I decided I am now going to send something i have that i know a certain someone on here would appreciate I am hoping that the person who receives my little surprise will do the same and send something they own to someone one else and so on and so on and so on....
I am not asking you to send your most prized possesion..however we all have things that maybe we like but not love or are attached to. If you have one of those items and you know there is someone on here on the forum who would appreciate it more than you I encourage you to send it to them

I will be sending my Pay it Foward gift out this week. If you think you would like this idea and would like to do the same please go for it! This is a completely selfless task but the reward of knowing you are going to make someones day without expecting anything in return will be outstanding. So below is the pic of the great surprise I received and when Pay it Foward gift is received I hope they post a pic as well and also keep the whole Pay it Foward idea going.

I decided to edit this post: If you receive a surprise in the mail and you just dont have anything you think anyone would want or have anything you really dont mind parting with...NO WORRIES This is designed to be a selfless act..you are not expected to send out anything right away...maybe later on in the year you come across a find that you wouldnt mind sending out and that would be fine too or maybe you never do. That is ok too. Those of us that are participating are simply doing it for the Joy of giving. No expectations from the receiver at all. However if you do have something then by all means Pay it Foward!

So, I have a question: let's say that there is someone on here that we would want to send the gift to... Is there someone that could maybe collect addresses of those interested so we could go to one person and surprise the person we want to send to? Or... Should we just ask the person for their address? OR...am I making this to difficult?? lol I know you wanted this to be a simple, selfless act.

this sounds like a wonderful idea, Spooki, the problem as I see it is what was previously mentioned, addresses, I have lots due to the card exchange, and also the reaper, but most people don';t, AND I might want a addy I don't already have! so that issue needs to be resolved . other wise, good idea!

Well we could alway ask Larry or Bethene to send an PM asking for address when the time comes, that way that person would not know who is wanting to send a gift.

Sounds like a fabulous idea Spooki! I've gotten care packages from several different members here...everything from health supplements to reece cups to skyline chili!

I've done the card exchange for the past 3 years so I also have a lot of addresses. Perhaps we could archive them all and have one contact person that keeps them all?

Ok Oh boy I never thought about that due to I have several addresses from the card exchange as well. How about this? If you have someone you would like to send a gift to and you have their address from the card exchange then great! If you do not have their address you can P.M. me and I can ask the peson their permission to give their address? would that work. I dont want people to ask Bethene because she has already done enough for the Seceret Reaper exchange. So let me know if that works. If you do not have the address for someone I can contact them via pm and ask their permission to give it out. Then I can contact you and give it to you. I would say though anyone who already has addresses should start keeping them on file.
