How nostalgic would a bonfire on Hallowe'en be? Like most, we are unable to pull it off without a serious re-do of the front yard, so it ain't gonna happen. But, does anyone here feature a real live fire outside their haunt? Or even seen such a thing?

Some neighbors around the corner sit in their driveway with one of those portable firepits, dress up to hand out candy and have a great time.

We have a firepit we always fire up at our parties, but wouldn't do it around trick or treaters for the fear of someone getting hurt.

We do a fire pit in the back yard the night of our open house. We have about an acre, so its in the far back of the house underneath some trees. We have a "haunted trail" that goes along the pool fence that leads to it. At the fire we have Smores...YUM! Praying for rain over the next few weeks so that they will lift the burn ban
. We love a fire on Halloween....nothing is better than sitting around a warm fire on a cool fall night with a jack o lantern lit, eating smores....heavenly!

We have a fire pit going in the backyard during our annual party. It's such a nice touch and brings back a lot of memories for me, personally, of haunted hayrack rides as a kid that always ended with a bonfire.

If its not too windy, we usually light the firepit in the backyard for the Halloween night chili party.

We have one if the wind isn't blowing...I learned my lesson last year though with all the wind, you can't rely on the weather to cooperate to have a fire every year for warmth so this year I have 2 10X20 enclosed tents that I'm going to heat with propane...We will still have a bon fire if the weather is calm because it's great for roasting marshmellows and of course as others mentioned- Smores!....ZR

Given the Sunday Halloween this year, we're going to have a bonfire on Saturday. Unfortunately, this give me an inflexible deadline (and one less day) to finish my build!
OTOH, a little boric acid and a GREEN bonfire, well, that's too cool to pass up!

We thought we'd try a bonfire for the first time this year and a small party. Usually I, along with my brother and his wife, take my daughter out trick or treating, then we come back and call it a night. No horror movies, no nothing. This year, we thought we'd have a small party with apple bobbing then a bonfire afterwards to tell ghost stories. My daughter was watching "Storm of the Century" with me the other day and is afraid of the teapot song now, ha ha! Her aunt's gonna dress up like Linoge from the movie and sneak up on her from behind at the fire, singing that song.
