There's Devil's Chariot's fantastic yard. I think it is the the epitome of the concept:

Haunted Tiki Island 2008 - my yard haunt

    Haunted Tiki Island 2009

Mine is a poor attempt in contrast.

    An UnOrthodOx Halloween 2009

    "The UnOrthodOx Halloween Experience 2008"

You might also want to look up some of the pirate folks. I know a number of them have headhunter areas that are fantastic.

Foggy I'm going to do a voodoo cemetary scene this year but am still working on it so nothing to show yet. Here's what I'm hoping to pull together though:

Among the tombstones will be a coffin or two out of the ground around which I'm thinking I'll have my Spirit voodoo woman prop and a witch doctor prop I'm going to put together. I'm thinking I'm going to pattern the witch doctor after Baron Samedi (Bond film "Live and Let Die"). That's a good movie to watch for some ideas btw. I have a top hat for him and long coat I think he'll wear. Need to modify a mask for him. I have spooky trees I want to use and tie long black plastic strands to them (for a swampy willow tree effect). I have one of those zombie foggers that I'm going to see if I can set up so he'll be coming out of one of the coffins. I'll add candles and lanterns to the grave scene, a dead crow maybe. Still really working on the whole set up. I think I have purple outdoor lights as well as green and orange to choose from (Big Lots purchases from a few years back).

While this link is related to Hoo Doo as opposed to Voo Doo, you might find the picture links helpful in setting your scene: Papa Justify. "The Skeleton Key" is another great movie for atmosphere ideas.

Why didn't I think of Haunted Tiki before now?!?! Genius! Looks awesome!!

Hubby is reeeallly into all things tiki & dragged me into it too. We're always on the lookout for all things tiki in used stores & have scored some great stuff in our Goodwill. This could be the plan for next year!! We've already got a TON of masks & I'm more than willing to make more.

Sounds like Hubby could get into helping with that theme.
