Okay - I have one of those cheapie 1000w fog machines from those Halloween stores that pop up this time of year. I bought it day after Halloween last year as an 'open box'. I tried for about 5 minutes, confirmed it worked, then stored it until now. I got it out and tested it the other day and found that the amount of fog put out seems really weak. The 400w unit I bought brand new seems to put out way more fog.

So - I know this was a used item - I have no idea how it was kept up. I have cleaned it using vinegar and water - no change. I have also tested the pump by unhooking it from the heater and letting it pump into the driveway. It seemed to me that the pump was working really well. It would pump a fine stream about 15 feet into the driveway.

My questions to the experts here are these:
- the fluid coming from the pump - should it be a fine stream, or more full - kind of like a garden hose?
- could there be a clog further down the system keeping the unit from working fully? If so - how can I clean it inside the heater unit?

Thanks all so much for the help! I have already learned so much from this site!
