I'm in Australia and halloween isnt really celerbrated here......Although there seems to be alot more stock avialable this year. But you really have to know where the stores are that are selling the decorations. I've got some things decorating my living room but nothing large and l look at everything you guys are creating on here and sigh in envy.

I am slowly learning how to build one. I would like to get my pumpkin reaper bit better.

Fellow Aussie here, and I know what you mean. I'd kill to see just one other house decorated for Halloween! I make my own props (the store props here are stupidly overpriced) and display them on Halloween night, I'd like to start earlier but that would just seem...I dunno..wierd in Aus. I can imagine people saying "Whats with all the decorations?! It's still a whole 7 days until Halloween!" (Hell, alot of people dont even know when Halloween is).
So far the best place I've found for Halloween decor is Toys 'R' Us. They seem to have the largest range.

Also look in dusk candle stores they've got big pumpkin candles as well as black candle skulls as well tealight jars with stencilled cutout skellies and ghosts on them.

So little Halloween.
I did something about it here in my little hometown 23 years ago.
I began my own "Haunted House"!
OPEN every night (almost) for the last 22 years.
I could never see the logic in celebrating such wonderfull creative fun so sparsely, so "every night" fills the bill, along with being open Sat. & Sun. afternoons too!
I have built most of everything here and part of my tourist show is amazing them with that fact since most mere humans don't ever work so long and hard here on your planet.
"Whoops!" I might have given myself away there....
HAHAHAHAH!

As fond as I am of kangaroos, I can't imagine living somewhere that didn't provide cultural and retail support for Halloween! Ironically enough, I stole my theme for this year from an Aussie who did a great job with the Seven Deadly Sins even absent traditional Halloween props.
Do you have access to medical supply houses? Shops for gothic clothing and accessories? Decent craft stores? Bait shops? Lots can be done by looking at familiar items in new ways.
In the meantime, I'd offer to make you an honorary American but really, even with Obama in office, who would want to be?

Wow thanks for the info! I never new about the Halloween superstore, and I have a Dusk store 2 minutes away from where I live. I'll check it out. I noticed some stuff in the reject shop, mainly just the cheap generic items, also "What's New" has things out aswell, but they are very expensive and not that great.
I sent an email to Woolworths Robina asking if they were selling the pumpkins this year and apparently they are, although I havn't seem them out yet. I should've ask when they came in...(d'uh)..
A lucky thing about living on the Coast is that I can easily attend the Halloween Fright Nights at Movie World, and they're AWESOME.
Yep, they sure are tasty.
