Thread: This makes it all worthwhile…..

This weekend my husband, my father, and I began our Halloween set up. (I’ll post pics soon)

We were not looking forward to setting up because
1) It has been over 100 degrees each day
2) Our set up this year is really detailed and is taking forever to set up
3) It feels like we have already spent too much time, energy, and money on
this year’s display
4) We don’t know or don’t like a lot of our neighbors.
5) We have read tons of threads on vandalism, theft, and difficult neighbors.

But it was an amazing experience…. (Expect for the dehydration and almost dying of heat stroke…lol)

We got tons of compliments, thank yous, smiles, car honks etc.

We met and talked to neighbors we have never even seen before.

Tons of parents took their kids to see the start of the display

And several of the neighborhood kids stood on our median and in our driveway to watch us set up.

I am still super worried about everything that could go wrong (difficult nieghbors, theft, vandalism, complaints to the city etc.) but right now I am really happy.

As of right now, all the time, energy, and money feels worthwhile

And I hope that everyone else has a similar experience setting up.

P.S. We also saw 10 houses with halloween decorations in our neighborhood...last year there were no houses decorated but ours.... the spirit is spreading!

That's great to hear that you'v had such a postive reaction and it's only the seconed week of October. I can't wait to see your pictures. Sounds like one hell of an AMAZING display. I would love your weather. Here in Colorado I'm worried we will be hit with snow,wind and rain.

Awesome! Yeah there were very few ppl with decor last year and now I see more and more houses getting into the spirit this year. Love it!!! Need pics soon! XD
