I just heard about this on the news. A Florida couple bought what the thought was a box of Halloween decorations that contained a real human skeleton. Don't know if I would have turned it in.The complete story is here:

There are other holidays besides Halloween? When did they start that?

Oh my that would be a shocker.
At least it wasn't someone selling someone they had killed.

o WOW, that could have been me! I almost just snorted my milk when I saw the location! I live essentially in Brandon (where the bones were sold) but havent been to yard sales in the past 2 weeks
. I ALWAYS buy peoples "bone boxes". Any time a lot of bones are sold its generally in the $5 range and I always buy them no matter what. I could have been the one to have bought these just thinking they were "corpsified" or came that way. lol.

It probably belonged to some old educator or doctor's office and they were donated or something like that after that person died or moved away. Now a days they have companies that make buckies but that wasn't always the case.
Still probably a very frightening realization for the yard sale people. And a story they can tell on halloween for years to come. LOL.
Kind of like finding baby teeth the tooth fairy kept or gall stones kept after surgery...

I'm not going to lie, I think I would actually like to have a real skeleton. I don't know what exactly I could morally do with it but I think it would be cool. Obtaining it at a yard sale probably isn't the right way though either.
My high school had a real skeleton in the Biology lab. If I remember correctly it was a teenage female who died in a car accident and the parents donated her to science so she could "live" on.
There are a few companies who still sell authentic human skeletons. However, from what I've read they are not American as it is now illegal to sell authentic American skeletons. They are also VERY expensive and limited to medical institutions (doc offices, schools, research).
