I was at Spirit & Halloween city this weekend & saw a number of broken props there. I was wondering what do they do with them? I would love to be able to buy them at a huge discount to use for parts or to perhaps repair them. I inquired while there but there was no manager available who could answer my qusetion. Does anyone know what becomes of the damaged or broken props?

Not to get your hopes up, but I thought I saw somewhere that they put some of the stuff in the dumpsters after Halloween. It's still their property in their rented dumpster, but you could strike gold.

I've already been in contact with my local Spirit Halloween asking this question. Had to visit the store on Saturday and spoke to the manager who recalls getting the letter from me. She told me to get back in touch with her in a week or two but said that she already has some items in the back that she could do a great deal on, So I will be calling back in the next few days.

It might be worth sending a letter to your local Spirit store, addressed to the Manager, and ask to be considered for any props that are damaged/broken etc, then call in a week before Halloween and speak to them personally.

They most likely send them back to a manufacturer and get a credit for the item.

This is a great idea!! I love the look of some of their animated props but wouldn't ever pay full price for them, even if they worked properly. I might have to stop by there this weekend & see what they say!

Spirit throws their stuff in dumpsters. From a business standpoint is is cheaper to toss the stuff then store it all year when you are only a seasonal store.
