i never figured this out either, instead i bought a fm transmitter, then hooked speakers up to my stereo and put extra speakers outside. having a heck of a time this year with the transmitter though, looks like we got a new station since last year and now i'm kinda out of luck. would be great to just hook up speakers to the light show.

An audio jack splitter should work.

Would you plug the audio jack splitter into the Gemmy unit - Where the speaker would plug in?

Thank

The splitter plugs into the speaker jack of the Gemmy unit and out to your stereo or amp - the mp3 really kicks. I am using just over 1000 led's and no problems.

I would plug it into the mp3 player you are using. You can then use any set of powerful speakers. One cord goes from the mp3 to the gemmy unit, and the other goes to the speakers.
