We had talked about doing it last year, but nothing came of it. This year however I made sure it happened.
So last night we went to Reinke Brother's Haunted Mansion in Littleton Colorado (Today we're going back there for their annual Zombie Crawl). Both boys had been there before for the 'lights on' tour in previous years, but this time it was dark and there were actors there jumping out at us.
Originally it was just suppose to be me and my ten year old, but my seven year old didn't want to be left out, so I figured we take him and see how he handled it. Both of them did great. Better than the group of teenagers that came out after us.
Now I did get the feeling the actors took note of their age and were not as aggressive as they normally would be. But enough was done that both boys jumped a few times.
My seven year old held my hands tightly the whole way. He didn't like it when it was pitch black more than anything else.
But both of them slept great last night, no nightmares or problems getting to sleep, which is a good sign.
With my wife not about to even try to go through a haunted house, at least now I have my boys to take with me to them, I will hopefully start going regularly again.

That's awesome. Love to see the little ones get involved in all the festivities.

There are other holidays besides Halloween? When did they start that?

I love Halloween but don't really like being scared so I can relate to your wife.
