I'm interested to know everyones Top 3 (if you can narrow it down) things about the scary-season!

Mine (in no particular order):

1. Candy Apples
2. Leaves changing to beautiful red/gold and brown colors
3. Pumpkins!

What are yours?

My three favorite things about this season are:

1. The beautiful and amazing colors of the leaves, watching them cover the still green grass with all their brightness... and seeing them against that bright blue sky that only seems to get that particular shade when it is set against those yellows and reds of the changing trees. Along those same lines, I love the brisk chill in the air as well.

2. The curious neighbors and their kids who walk by my house and stare for several minutes at my Halloween displays, then come to our house for the haunted house, and bring bottles of wine and boxes of cookies and other gifts they make for us.

3. The anticipation that leads up to the big party as well as the party itself, where all our friends come to enjoy our craziness! And the fact that we have people we don't even know who are asking their friends who know us to get them an invite to the party. Hehehe


It's actually difficult to narrow it down to only 3 things! I absolutely love this time of year for so so so many reasons!

1. Sights- Fall colors, leafs, haunted houses
2. PUMPKIN- everything... carving, the smell, fun time
3. Scaring the poo out of people, I'm twisted like that.

It's the gateway into Thanksgiving & Christmas

1. Seeing halloween decorations and lights up, especially when the days are so short and the nights are so long.
2. Pumpkins -- carved, non-carved, love seeing the spots of orange in the pumpkin fields. Love pumpkin pie.
3. The fun the season brings. The planning, the decorating, seeing the kids in their costumes, the pleasure realized when the kids and/or adults comment on your decorations.

Fall. Everything,everything. The warm pots of stew and soup,casseroles, the changing leaves and weather. The first time you turn on the heater. Sweaters, boots. Crispy footsteps outside. Activities like pumpkin farms,hayrides,bonfires,haunted houses,carving pumpkins. Love it.

Halloween decorations. Working on them, maintaining them. Buying things for my props Seeing stuff in stores. Going out to shop JUST for Halloween stuff. Driving by ANY sign of Halloween festivity, even just a crashed witch on the door. And yes, I admire the hideous blow ups as well. They all give me a happy flutter.


The atmospheric shift. Everything seems a bit more spiritual and magical and intense as it draws closer to Halloween.

Also in no particular order:
1. Shopping for all of the stuff I'll need for Halloween this year! props, paint, costumes...
2. Watching my kids get just as excited as me about the season, in July......lol
3. Waiting for the next victim!!!

Obviously Halloween is my favorite thing of the season, but I am sure that is everyone's #1 here.
