Been working on the haunt all day but decided to come in and share something funny that happened to me. I was out in the front working on painting the stripes on our big circus facade and while I was up on the ladder, a fan pulled up in front of the house. I turned around, and it was the wife of one of our sponsors (They run a local construction company.) Anyway, I turn around, and she smiles and waves and rolls down her window. I go over to talk to her and she opens the back door and her three little boys are sitting in the back and she goes "Look who it is! Zach's here!" and the little boys all start smiling. Then she goes to the middle boy (who's probably around 5 or so) and goes "Tell Zach what you've been doing in our basement!" and he smiles and goes "I'm making one of those (haunted house) in my basement" and he giggles. I guess he's been hard at work putting things up and he even made a sign that says "Front Yard Fright" and has been calling himself Zach.

It put a huge smile on my face! I definitely didn't think I would have such an effect on this community.

Shortly after that, two college guys were jogging by the house while I was sitting on the ground painting the bottom of the facade and one of the guys goes to the other "This is the Halloween extravaganza house" and I stood up from painting and smiled at them and the guy goes "Hey Zach!"...

I'm almost positive I've never met the guy before.

Aww, that little boy sounds like a perfect future husband for my six year old, lol. I think it's awesome that you're getting recognized by people in your neighborhood. That must feel really good.
