Thread: should i let the paper take a pic?

a person from the local newspaper stopped by and wanted to take a pic of the house for the paper. i told them to come back next week cause for one i'm not done, and two, should i let them? i live in a small town and it's the paper for a bigger town close to me. but i'm afraid if i get publicity and attention that i'm going to start getting vandalism and theft. what's your thoughts.

I would definitely have them photo your home but ask them to please refrain from printing your exact address. They are understanding of ones concerns and privacy when it comes to a private residence. Congrats on the offer!

My friends and relatives have been trying to get them to come out to our house for 6 years. No go. So congratulations. I probably would agree that I would like them to come back when finished. But why would someone come from another town just to vandalize your yard? Don't they have yards in their town? That sounded snotty when i read it back, and not what I meant. Anyway, good luck whatever you decide.

not trying to sound snotty, almost everything i have is handmade and i'm not very good i just have the most, actually both the towns around here don't do much of anything. there's two houses that do a lot of blow ups and that's it. i just read about a lot of vandalism on here from other members and the neighboring town which is only 7 miles away is a college town.
and i never thought about not having them print my address. that might help. thanks everyone

yea I totally agree go for it, its a great honor to get the newspaper in your yard I don't think you will have to worry about thefts just keep an eye on your props and everything should be good, congrats!
