So I recently found out that my job is sending my to India until October 30. I will probably spend all of Halloween actually sleeping and will miss pretty much every Halloween party. SO SAD. (But I am excited to go to India)
Since I will be spending about 17 hours on a plane each way I will be doing lots of reading. Does anyone have any suggestions about good Halloween-ish books? That way I can still take a little Halloween with me!

The Halloween Tree by Bradbury. Although it's juvenile lit, it is great at putting you in the Halloween mind frame!

Also by Ray Bradbury, Something Wicked This Way Comes.
Halloween III (not a slasher plot) by Dennis Etchison writing under the pseudonym Jack Martin - there are lots of used copies you can find online, hard to find in a bookstore.

The only thing I love on the same level with Halloween is reading.
Check out anything by Al Sarrantonio, he writes Halloween themed horror novels. He also co-edited a book of short stories recently with Neil Gaiman, called (appropriately) Stories, which is excellent.
Speaking of Neil Gaiman, check out The Graveyard Book, it's AMAZING.
I just re-read "A Night in the Lonesome October" by Richard Zelazny, and it's a PERFECT Halloween book.
Richard Matheson, while not specifically Halloween, has a lot of great stuff, Hell House is my favorite, and he wrote I Am Legend and Stir of Echoes, too.
There's a great book called "Julian's House" which is a great ghost story, very atmospheric and spooky, though also not specifically Halloween, either.
Clive Barker wrote a book called "The Thief of Always" about a boy who gets trapped in a land where it's Halloween every night.
I could go on forever, and I'll probably add to it at some point exclaming "I can't BELIEVE I forgot this one!" But I'll give it a rest for now.I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.
~~~Pssssst~~~It's me, Geekmidwinter, I just changed my screen name and avatar! ^v^ ^v^ ^v^
