I have started an album on my older stuff as I run across it while digging things out and thought it would be neat to see what has lasted over the years from you all
Here is an old 76' make-up book using household items like egg cartons, paper towels, karo syrup, beans and oatmeal. There is a werewolf section that calls for Dr Sholls lambs wool. What the heck IS that????
The pic also shows an Elvira make-up kit and a pamplet from Sears. The back of it has lots of pics and make-up tips from their "Halloween Station". I don't even remember them having that!!!

OMG!! I had that Monster Make up book =) It definitely inspired my love of the gorey. I still use a trick I learned there... Gelatin for creepy skin. THX for posting.

CreepySpiders - how do you use Gelatin for creepy skin? I bought some and had planned on experimenting, but instructions would be SO MUCH EASIER. - could you maybe start a new thread on this?

Last year I made zombie skin. mix the clear gelatin with a little hot water in a bowl. You only need a small amount so don't
use the whole packet. you can dip bits of kleenex or toilet tissue in the mixture and apply it (the whole tissue piece) to where ever
you want the skin to look like it's peeling off. try not to put it on too thick because it can get crunchy by the end of the night. once it is on you can put make up and blood overit. Voila!
cool peeling zombie face =) have fun.

Wow I can't believe how many of us have this book! I was thumbing thru it and wondered how those poor kids got thru the night in all that mess they were wearing. I made a mask in art class based on that bug-eyed creature on the front using egg cartons (for eyes)cause I didn't want to glue all that to my face.

I got the book through a book order at school. I treasured it! You are right tho... I kind of remember one involving oatmeal. Talk about heavy / goopy.
