Thread: My ideas for 2011 or 2012 Haunted Hacienda

This is based on the History of my Property and the area where I live.

1.) Was Site of Taos Pueblo Medicine Rites.
2.) Kit Carson Explored the area somewhere in the 1700's and then resided here and was Buried in the local Park.
3.) Taos Pueblo Revolt (Bodies Buried between here and Canyon Road toward Ski Valley).
4.) Was the original Site of "Placita de Las Brujas" or "Place of the Witches."
There was a Wiccan Sect that practiced their Rites here.
5.) Town had a "Spectral" Beginning, with an old Retablo that was found where the Catholic Church is currently located and it was said that God and Jesus were seen here by a young child and it was claimed that they chose this place as their home.
This is only Legend, so don't shoot the Messenger.
Said Retablo now rests in the old Church on the Hill.
6.) Was part of the martinez Family Spanish Land Grant.
7.) First Town of Arroyo Seco is about a mile and a half east of us and is an Abandoned Ghost Town.
It was moved to current location in late 1800's.
8.) Was First Town School in the 1880's. The School Marm's Spirit is seen here at my place every now and again.
No one knows where she went or what became of her after the School was no longer here.
9.) About the 1950's or so, this was the first Town Cemetery Site, where my house is and some of the Residents are still Restless, Never got moved when they moved the Graves to other Cemeteries.
10.) The Houses on my Property that are here now, came in about the 1970's somewhere, no one knows the exact date they were placed here.
Rumor has it, they came from a CA Military Base.
11.) In the Town that is here now, there was a Gunfight between Residents and Newcomers. No one knows who fired the first shot and no one (Miraculously) was killed or injured.
12.) There was a death on the Property in the 1980's at the home of a Neighbor here. Some say the Lady that died was a Mental Case.
13.) The people that lived in the house before us, said they fled this house in Terror, as they couldn't deal with the Spirits that haunt the Property.

Any ideas how to use all this Info for scenes for a Scary Haunted Walk and Maze for the Older Kids?

WOW! Talk about a thick history. There are so many things you could do. What I'd recommend is that you start collecting ideas and then narrowing them down. Google "Haunted walks" or "Halloween Walks" and see what else is out there. I know I've written murder mysteries for a few of them, and there's some pretty great stuff out there. "Borrow" the stuff you like best and start planning it out now!

Yes, I know, it is a thick history.
Thing is, I have not been in the area long and want to start planning now, even with 2010 on its way, but I would also have to look at the area toward the rear of my Property at night, when it is dark, so I can see what we might get done with this.
The Cemetery Set, we already do to the front of the Property, so that is crossed off the list.
I think we could get away with doing the School Marm's Spirit with a Pepper's Ghost.
The Lady that died on the Property, I think we could get someone to be a Scharacter of her.
Not sure about the Kit Carson part of things, will have to work on that more.
As for the Pueblo indians thing, I think I might be able to ask some of my Cousins on the Rez to do that.
The thing with the Retablo, I think I might be able tog et a local to be like a Priest Scharacter, rambling on something about the Retablo and holding something that is simply a Retablo Prop up and waving it around or some such.
Might be able to get Scharacters to be the Undead Souls of the people killed in the Pueblo Revolt or something of that nature.
We might even be able to do some kind of a Set with Witches or Scharacters doing that and make it all spooky and the like.
