Hey all, so here is the deal....my wife (Mrs JohnnyAppleseed) is a US Navy Sailor onboard the USS Shoup (DDG-86). They left homeport on deployment in September and will not return until March 2011. She is an avid Halloweenie, and on top of leaving her husband (that would be me) and her three daughters (the seedlings), she misses every major holiday this fall and winter. She is especially bummed at missing Halloween.
The girls and I have put together a treat box for her and mailed it, but while chatting with Maleficent the other evening she asked if she could send her a card or small box as a way of spreading the Halloween Spirit. I thought it was a magnificent idea (Maley has this way of coming up with great ideas and causing me great turmoil with time management) and spawned this post.
So I was thinking how great it would be if a bunch of Halloween nuts (that would be many if not most of you) might take me up on the request to drop her a card or note just saying Happy Halloween. And since I have been known to surprise her on many an anniversary, birthday and other not so prominent days with flowers, candy, parties and such I thought that what a better way to surprise her when she's thousands of miles away! If your game and want to help this guy share a bit of haunting with his doll, send me a pm or leave a response on this thread and I will pm her shipboard address so that you can participate. It is standard US postage to a Fleet Post Office that gets the mail to them wherevere they are in the world (quite the feat in this day and age of electronic mail)! So for the mere price of a postage stamp and maybe a card you can help ol JohnnyAppleseed surprise his wife yet again (she is always trying to stay a step ahead of me, but unlike football where she kicks my butt in picks every season) I have the uncanny ability to find a way to surprise her at least once a year!
Thanks for reading and hopefully playing along.
Spookily yours, JA

Jonny, count in the Partsman and tell your wife thank-you from me for her service! PM me with the needed info

Any idea how long it takes for mail to reach her? I want the card to get there the week of Halloween, and not sure if there are delays.
