I thought this might be of some interest to a few of you.
This article first appeared in 2000, and has been reprinted in similar publications each year since.
This is only one such article dealing with a new attitude appearing among Protestant evangelical christians, many of whom have taken a dim view of the holiday since the satanic panic of the 80's.
Some of them seem to be reconsidering their position.
If you google Christians AND Halloween at the same time you can find more and more of these sorts of articles every year.
It may take many years before this is the norm, but it looks like the winds, as they do every autumn, are starting to change...

The fact that this is my 666th post makes the topic unexpectedly ironic...

My wonderful MIL refuses to visit us this time of year. God love her but she even calls her reviled eggs "Angel Eggs". I have a "Wicked" room in my house all year based on the broadway musical and even when she sees that she prays in the room to cast out the bad spirits. Lol one year! I'm going as her for Halloween!

Excellent article, thanks for sharing.
As I was going up the stair, I saw a man that wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today...Oh how I wish he'd go away.

Good read! My church is very against any scary, evil things for Halloween. They have held trunk or treat for several years, but this year are doing a Pumpkin Patch carnival with booths and everyone dressing up.
I am glad to see them embrace the day a little more. I will at home having our Witches Ball Boo Bash that night.

Well, if you want, you can always email that article to your pastor or family members who have concerns.
It may be the one thing that finally makes them realize that we are making fun of fear and mocking death and the devil, rejecting the spirit of fear as Paul instructed in the New Testament.
Worth a shot, anyway...
We stress and worry most of the year about dozens of things, real concerns. Halloween is when we take a much-needed breather and grin back in defiance at Death.
