A lot of people don't like clowns so I think a clown room is awesome. I made a little kid clown a few years ago and hubby didn't like it at all, lol.

I used pvc to make a small frame. Found a childs clown costume and mask.

Serial killer John Wayne Gacy comes to mind. Maybe pin up pics of his victims. I don't know if that's to morbid for ya or not.

In the past we have done a carnival theme with black lights, florescent paints and chroma-depth glasses.

We're simplifying our clown room this year and going for a subtle creepy effect. Just a pitch black room with 4 clowns in each corner. Clown # 1 will have a single LED on it. As soon as they get half way into the room they will trigger the light sequencing, the LED will fade out and the next clown will light up for two seconds, and so on. On the second rotation one of the clowns will be missing and they will know it's not fake and somewhere in the room with them.

Clown 2 - 7' creepy clown
clown 3 - clown in rocking chair
clown 4 - creepy clown standing with an ax

How about a giant scary jack-in-the-box. You could also have stringed marionette puppets hanging around the room.

Maybe use the Michael Myers clown costume (at the beginning of the movie, he wore a clown costume when he killed his first victim).

A giant clown jack-in-the-box has the possibility to be one of the most frightening things I've ever heard of.

Random ideas of the top of my head.... drapers or door drapes that look like a circus tent (thinking stripes.... )

Our clown room is all lit up with all kinds of bright red,green,blue lights flashing and a mirrir ball putting red and blue dots everywhere and ofcourse weird clown/carnival music and effects. It is kind of overload, with everything hitting them from all directions. Kind of a midway.

First is a tunnel with pool noodles with black light paint and a big balcklight clown cloth thing and then 3 clown pictures on a wall with one being a drop panel. Then into the midway with an acutall old kid carnival car ride that has been out in the weather and all the paint is peeling off. Got a rotton candy booth and a kiss the clown booth and then a big button that says do not push and ofcourse they do and get a loud semi air horn going off. A few live clowns are following and tuanting them to push the button. also have a fake flying clown hanging from a rope with another rope that somone behing a curtian is pulling to make it fly.

So a lot going on from everywhere, which is what I was going for.

Since your doing Killer Klowns from Outer Space....try using pink spider webbing as cotton candy and wrapping big bundles to hang from the ceiling as obstacles..with black lights...it's what we do in our KK room ...that and shoot pink silly string at them.
