Every year at this time I bring this topic up. This year we get...a Half Moon. Not bad, not like last year's "Almost Full", but it's one issue we have no control over. I've been lucky; in all the set-ups that I've done over the years, we've been situated such that the moon itself is part of the back-drop for our set-up.

I prefer a full-on crescent OR full but as you say, it's not really something we have control over!
My house faces...let me think...south, so the moon doesn't come up over it. However, I too am very into the whole moon cycles thing and I made all my friends watch the Harvest Moon this year which, unusually, took place ON the first day of fall.
The moon definitely does add atmosphere on H'ween. I think no matter what the phase, if some clouds drift in front of it, the mood is on.

The full moon was great last month. We had our Welcome Dinner on the beach for our wedding. It was a bonfire clam bake and it looked great. Then only two days later we were married on the 25th and it was still full. Loved it. Our house faces the rising moon so they kids get to see it over our trees when they leave the house.

I don't really know.......but i'm a slave to the moon phases. When it's time, i begin to grow fur and howl on the front porch......drives the wife nuts! I do know that a full moon draws my attention like no other. When i am out at night walking my dogs or i simply just look up and see it, i have to stand and stare in awe at it's power.....it's ancient-ness!
