Hello Boils and Ghouls! I'm a little new and this was the only place I saw that would make sense to put this topic in. But on from that, I need help turning one of my rooms in our house to a greenhouse scene. What are your thoughts? Is it a good idea to you? And what is some things I could use?

    Hi Pirates Revenge
Welcome to the forum. If you check out the section for party ideas you will typically find tons of ideas on decorating rooms to fit a particular theme.

Last year they had an amazing thread on the bloody bayou which had a lot of examples on how to create an overgrown vegetation type feel
    Party theme idea: Bloody Bayou

and there are lots of threads on creating man eating plants

Any idea you have.... just type it in the seach box in the upper right hand corner and you will get tons of ideas about how to make it easily and cheaply.

    Good Luck!

PV a greenhouse would be a great place to create an infestation theme
Large snakes, rats, bats, or spiders can be bought at 99 cent store or dollar tree. There are also tons of threads dedicated to making giant spiders. Cover the plants with spider webs.

A green house would also be a great body disposal room.
Create some headless dummies by stuffing clothes with newspaper. Pile them on the floor. Purchase body parts and bones from the discount stores and place them inside plants, empty containers, shelves, hanging from the ceiling etc. Cover your yard tools in fake blood.

I seriously love your ideas! What would you suggest for a costume though? I was thinking my dad as a huge plant and me a living Venus fly trap . And were could I find costumes like that?

awww... thank you for the kind words.

You can always look online. But it would probably be cheaper if you make it yourself by creating a prop and attaching it to your clothing.

You could also dress up like a character from the Little Shop of Horrors. Watch the movie for inspiration. They even have scenes from the movie on you tube.

Or decorate the greenhouse like a scene from the movie The Ruins and dress up like a character from that movie.

Or create plant victims costumes. Rip up clothing and attach leaves, sticks, flowers. Create wounds near the plant parts with blood (dark blood if you are already dead, light colored blood in you are dying). Make sure your hair is messed up and covered in plant parts. Apply face make up to look like you are dying or dead.

Or wrap yourself up like a mummy with real or fake plant vines.

If you post this question again on the costumes page.... I am sure you would get a lot of other good ideas.

This definetly seems like a fun and unique theme.

I really like the plant victim idea!

I worked in a pro haunted house that had one in the haunted house themed house (sounds funny but they also had a mental ward haunted house) and they covered the top of the room with what I think are corrugated plastic/fiberglass sheeting for buildings/greenhouses and put a light (dim one) above it so it looked like you were actually outside. It was awesome. Wish I had a pic for you. I am not sure exactly why they had a snow machine in there tho........
