Hey. So here's the problem, I'm setting up my stuff and my inside looks good, the best I've done to date (it just keeps getting better every year); however, then I go outside on my balcony and... I just lose the feeling. I mean, I dunno, I just need some ideas... here's a couple of pics.

But, the pumpkin covers the porchlight, so it'll light up...and all the string lights are orange, so the whole thing has a nice orange glow to it. ...the ghost is supposed to be a FCG, but I can't find my motor, so I might just leave it stationary this year. ..one idea I had is putting like a red light into the grill, then carving a pumpkin that looks like it's in pain and then putting him on the grill... but I dunno, it just doesn't....pop to me. ...any ideas?

Faux spider web stuff is the easiest solution but if you can afford it go with one of these

how about putting creepy cloth on the table with some kind of center piece, putting a dummy on the chair with cobweb all over it I like the pumpkin idea with the grill, see if the gel sticks stick on the grill if they do get the dripping blood ones and put it on the rim of the grill Add cobweb to the corners of the balcony. maybe even put a few pumpkins on the balcony floor facing out they can be mad in pain with black marks on them like they have been cooked....
Where's the kaboom? There was supposed to be an earth-shattering KABOOM!!

hang bodies or props from the rails

place a body on the floor

hang a garland of bloody weapons across the balcony ( sold at 99 cent stores)

Or Black out the entire balcony area with black plastic and play screaming and moaning sounds on your cd. Whatever you come up with won't be as scary as what they will imagine

I would go with a backdrop on the siding. Hit Party City, Spirit, or some such. Tape it up and then put corpses, ghouls, stuffed grannies in the chairs. Cobwebs, dead vines, spiders, and hang some bats from the top of the balcony. U can put out a HUGE carved lighted pumpkin on the table facing outward too.

Lots of spiderwebs and maybe a quick and dirty spider victim hung from the ceiling with lots of little spiders crawling around on him. Also, take some cheesecloth and really distress it up good, hang that around the upper edges of your balcony (think creepy icicles). Next you go out into the woods and find you some vines (not poison ivy or anything like that, just some kinda plant) and intertwine them around the railing, leaving some hanging over the edges. They should dry out nicely in the next week or so. That will give you a nice deserted look to your balcony.

Or there is always Blumpkins idea. LOL

I really like the dog of evil, very authentic!!

Here's one thing I made last year, didn't cost a thing except for sacrificing a couple of garbage bags:

    http://www.marthastewart.com/article...y_halloween_p3

The only extra thing I did was run a strip of duct tape across the top of each "curtain" to give it a little more strength for hanging. What I really liked was that they looked really good in the DAYTIME, especially when the wind was blowing. I folded them up and am getting ready to hang them again this year, just planning to make a few more to add to the overall atmosphere!

Wow that's a really great and inexpensive idea. Thank you!

A ground fogger with a good chiller comes to mind. Creepy fog dropping over the side of the balcony would be very cool/ Light the bottom side of the fog. Have something in the area under the balcony partially obscured by tehy fog until people get close maybe? Have the fog coming from inside the house. Have someone lie in the fog and periodically rise out of it into a sitting positon. Or get an animatronic that does this. Drip bloody ooze or slime off one side of the balcony. A 4 gallon water bottle with a valve could do this. Have something lying half disolved in the ooze below the balcony. Buy cheap hands heads feet (a couple bucks each)and ooze em up. Leave em wondering whats happening on the balcony beyond sight.!!!! just a couple ideas. cait
