OK, so Ive been looking at a lot of pictures of haunts (fantastic work by the way) and Ive noticed that many people plant things such as a graveyard right in their grass. My question is this....do you move all of that stuff out of the way to mow the grass or do you just let the grass go for the year? It seems like a lot of work if you obsess about your lawn as I do. No way I'm moving 35 tombstones and 3 groundbreakers twice a week.

Put it out, let the grass grow...spooky graveyards are not well tended...you can get your manicured lawn back after Halloween. LOL

I agree with Elza, I put my outdoor things out about three weeks before Halloween and catch up with the lawn after.

    I wish I could but I cant....must mow....argggg.

My solution is I have xeroscaped areas that do not need grooming so all my props end up in there and on the porch.

We stop mowing in September and the yard is pretty shaggy by Halloween. I live in an HOA and never once gotten written up during this time, strangely enough. I think they understand that in this case.

If you can't because of an HOA, then I do understand, but if it's an obsessive need to have a perfectly manicured lawn... take deep breaths, put your stuff out a little later than normal (say the middle of October) and let it go for a few weeks until Halloween is over. You can mow it the very next day!

It's been so hot and dry, all my yard is dead anyway, but normally I mow end of sept and let it go after that, it adds to the graveyard effect....baaahahahahahaaa!!!!

So you think I have issues eh? lol. Actually I have these plants called Red Hot Pokers. Normally I cut back the dead stalks after they bloom but I let them go this year and they have a creepy dead look happening right now. Maybe I'm getter better and I didnt even know it
