Hi Folks,
Anyone out there a member of "Haunted House Association" (HHA)? Any reason for Home Haunter to join -- though it mentions Home Haunters are welcome to join. Just curious.

Man, to be rich... I think most people here are still mostly Haunters from their houses.

What is the benefit of being a member?
Any discounts or such?
I have never really examined the HHA so don't know what it offers.

The 2 haunted associations were going to combine .. but lack of intrest had them both fairly dead-in-the-water, at least as of late?
HHA was the newer of the 2 and was supposed to be only for haunt owners who would be funding (meaning $$) national PR programs which sort of leaves the majority out.
I'm not a memeber of either so I could be wrong, I'm just telling what a recent post over there said.
Certain mistrusts and negative situations rub between many haunters whether they be mere enthusiasts, yard haunters, home haunters , haunt actors in a charity haunt, paid haunt actors, prop builders for fun or money , owners of large haunts, and theme park seasonal haunts.
We ALL have much more in common than not but a fear of someone on a lower "Haunting Rung" accidentally causing newsworthy mishaps drawing down more and more severe regulations, thereby messing with one's profit or even the ability to be in or remain in the hobby, sport, business of Halloween celebrations comes into play, real or imaginary.
Haunt organizations must deal with and overcome egos of the main players and the insecurities of the minor ones, jealousy, differences as to how Halloween events should theme and numerous other differences too great to give mention to have a chance to work toward a better acceptable common end.
When I was a member yrs. ago the organizer wanted all commercial haunt owners to give free passes to the entire club's membership. I am open here every night of the year so potentually 100's of people would be finding me open, not like the limitations of travel and scheduling found throughout a busy October which would limit it to possibly something sensible. I couldn't do that.
Each tour here is usually conducted by me, except in Oct. and I'm putting 90 minutes into each group, 10 people in a group, I'm not just sitting making change selling tickets."My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"
