Hello my fellow halloween lovers-
My dad and I put on a little show every year at his house for the trick o treaters. This year we are doing a demon circus theme.
we have a farmers porch so we usually set up on there and some times we are limited to what we can do. And at the end of our little show, they still need candy.
SO this year the plan was to have the porch look like a happy circus, with my dad in a normal clown suit with his back turned. I would be dressed as a little girl sitting next to him with back turned to steps as well waiting for the clown to make me a balloon. Then we were going to switch the lights to a black light or some other freaky color, change the music to demonic music and we both turn around and we are demons, bloody, we have contacts and teeth and the whole deal and then kinda go after the trick o treaters.
Few questions: we always struggle on how to "end" our little shows. I mean you cant just turn around and scare them and just stand there. most years we usually just retract into our "lair" ( front door is right there) after we give them candy but we will already be in their sights as they come up the steps so I thought that if we just went in the house it would be a very uninspiring end. So I need some ideas for an ending
Second- I vasilated with another ideas for me, another demon clown that pops out of a box when the lights change, but thought a demon little girl or even a doll look would be creepier than a clown. so then if I do with a doll/girl, I didnt know how to shock/awe trick or treaters...I like the box idea but why would a little girl pop out of a box....
Ugh.....any ideas would be very helpful.

After you give them the candy if you can make them run away screaming, you wouldn't have to make an exit, they will be doing the exiting. What is a farmers porch? like a long wrap around porch??

half the time they run away screaming without even getting the candy! Yes a farmers porch is a long wrap around porch. But ya know you always have those kids that just stand there and dont move or make comments and you just want to throw a big pile of bloody guts at them. LOL thats why I need the exit strategy

Wow! We've been doing a "Psycho The Clown" scene every few years for at least ten years now. It's a GREAT scare. The TOT's see a normal, happy-face clown standing behind a table of prizes. But as they approach the table, they are distracted for a split second by the host shouting, "Hey". As they quickly glance at the host, taking their eyes off the clown, he leaps up and spins 180, revealing his REAL front, a hideous Clown, all covered in blood, starting a chainsaw. The "exit stategy" is the kids running away into the next display. We use Big Top music cutting to the shower scene from Psycho as the musical soundtrack. It never fails.
